A European government entity was tasked with tackling the root causes of organised crime, which was emanating from Afghanistan but impacting at home. The team was keen to understand more about the increased rates of kidnap for ransom in the country and gain greater insight into the issues of response.
NYA tailored a detailed training programme for the client covering crisis management planning, preparedness and response, and focusing on Afghanistan and the Pakistan/Afghanistan border, where a high number of incidents take place. We provided a 'real-time' simulated incident, which enabled the participants to gain a greater understanding of the many pressures impacting on an organisation during a kidnap and/or extortion incident.
We also allowed the organisation to understand its duty of care obligations to employees in high-risk environments, and the potential implications of getting this wrong.
