NYA International Crisis Prevention and Response

A global shipping organisation with operations in Nigeria was concerned about whether they had the best solution in place for the protection of the crew and vessels, and confused about West African legislation on the use of armed guards.

NYA produced a very detailed and comprehensive report outlining the current and potential future security situation for maritime operators in West Africa, as well as the legislative rules and variations throughout the region.

We then conducted a due diligence exercise both on the client’s current third party security provider and a number of other potential providers, which included an assessment of the local armed guarding resources employed by them.

Based on NYA’s report and recommendations, the client gained a much clearer understanding of their options and legal obligations, and was able to make informed and documented decisions for the better protection of their staff, assets and operations throughout West Africa.
