NYA International Crisis Prevention and Response

Following the expansion of oil and gas projects in the south of Yemen, a consortium organisation approached NYA to help improve and manage the terminal, port and littoral security around the facility.

Due to the extent of the task and the client’s lack of in-house capability, NYA embedded a security manager into the client’s facility. The role involved carrying out a complete security and vulnerability assessment for the site and associated operations, and producing a Port Facility Security Plan to enable interface with international tanker fleets, which would be using the facility.

The role also extended to the training and integration of an indigenous security force with locally employed private security companies to ensure that the security of expatriate and local national staff was effectively managed at the facility and when travelling around the country.
